Ivan Jacobs, M.D.
Ivan Jacobs, M.D. is a Founder of the Eye Care & Surgery Center in New Jersey. Dr. Jacobs is a Board Certified and Fellowship-Trained New Jersey Ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical treatment of Glaucoma. Dr. Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University and his Medical Degree cum laude from Jefferson Medical College. He completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at New York University, as well as a Fellowship in Glaucoma at New York University.
Dr. Jacobs holds the academic title of Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Rutgers Medical School (formerly UMDNJ) and has served as President of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. In addition to being a member of the American Glaucoma Society, he is only one of a few surgeons in New Jersey to have been successfully certified in cataract surgery by the American Board of Eye Surgery.
Dr. Jacobs provides advanced technology eye care diagnosis and treatment to his patients. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
After a distinguished surgical career, Dr. Jacobs has decided to limit his practice to medical consultative ophthalmology, but will continue to perform surgery internationally in underserved countries as a guest surgeon and lecturer. In addition, he continues to devote his expertise to training ophthalmology residents at the Rutgers Department of Ophthalmology.
